Lessons from the last Session of Amal
Every beginning has an end and every journey leads to a destination. I am here to write this blog about my Amal Career-Prep Fellowship which was a 3-month journey that finally came to an end. I would like to share my experience from the last online session which was about our Mega Project Presentation.
- How did the session help you think about what you want to do going forward?
The last session was not like usual online sessions comprising of project works, online courses and other activities rather it was about testing of the presentation skills and judgement of the soft skills polished throughout this journey, by the external facilitators.
Everyone appeared well prepared for their presentations. The session started with an informal discussion where all the fellows were sharing their feelings and excitement for the presentation. It was much fun sharing those excitements with one another but still a little nervousness was there related to the presentation. On one end we were happy for completing this journey but on other end we were a little sad for being separating from each other. But this is how life moves on and successful are the ones who adjust themselves with the flow of life.
Overall, this journey provided me many opportunities for polishing my soft skills like; leadership skills, time management, communication skills, leadership without authority as well as several professional skills. I am trying to teach these skills to my friends and also practice them by myself in daily life.
2. What did you enjoy the most about this day?
Interaction with the external facilitators and receiving constructive feedback from them for our presentations was the most enjoyable moment.
3. What was it like to just talk and connect? Do you think it is important to connect and do things just for your emotional uplift sometimes, even without a focus on work? How do you plan on keeping in touch with your Amal Family going forward?
Yes, emotional uplifting is important as it is responsible for mental and physical fitness. Sometimes, one needs a break from the routine work schedule and desires to be surrounded by the loved ones and close friends to feel relaxed. So, to live a happy and healthy life emotional uplifting is very important.
In order to stay in touch with my Amal family, there are various means of communication like; LinkedIn profiles, Facebook and WhatsApp groups, Personal contacts etc. Beside this, We can also plan a meet up for Peshawar based Amal friends where all can meet and cherish some beautiful memories.
4. How do you intend to use what you learnt in this fellowship in your future life?
Whatever learnings I have got from this fellowship; I will definitely apply them in my daily life activities as well as in Professional life for hunting a job for me.
